Database. ADOdb (the database abstraction layer that Elxis uses) supports about 45 different types and versions of databases. Elxis currently fully supports two databases, MySQL and PostgreSQL in their various versions. You can select either of the two as long as it is supported by your system. Alternatively, in the installer, you can select to provide a path to a database file instead of a name. This option is provided because certain types of databases like MS Access and Firebird use files. These databases are currently not supported, but the relevant feature has been added for future Elxis updates. The Elxis installer is also capable of creating the database in case it does not exist. In order for the database to be successfully created, the database user must have the necessary privileges.

Time offset. The Elxis installer automatically detects the time offset between the server that Elxis is being installed and your computer. You can accept the suggested time offset or set your own. Elxis even supports half-an-hour time ranges.

FTP Access. If you provide the installer with FTP access information, then they will be used in the creation of the Elxis configuration file (configuration.php). This feature prevents the non-creation of the configuration file in case that the PHP has no write permissions on the Elxis root folder.

Administrator info. Fill in the basic administrator info (name, username, password, e-mail). This info will also be used during the installation of the sample data. After the installation, you can complete your profile in the administration or front-end area of Elxis.
